Prepare Your Home for Winter

Winter is coming, and the clock is ticking. Now is a good time to get your home ready for the cold months ahead. These tasks can be tackled one at a given time so you won’t feel overwhelmed. Don’t wait to tackle the basics! Don’t wait for the rain or snow to get started on what you need to do.

Then, turn on the outside valve and leave it on. This will drain the faucet fixture and prevent it from freezing. You can also add a screw-on cap to your faucet for extra protection.

Before winter arrives, make a list of all repairs that may be needed around your house. Repair any heating leaks. Check every window and door outside on a windy day to identify areas that let in cold air or leak. Repair as necessary.
