Recently, we spoke with a woman who had dry skin. She had noticed that her skin was getting dryer over the last couple of months, even though she used products with the labels “for dry skin,” “for sensitive skin,” and “for normal skin.”
We were puzzled by her skin, but we figured out what she was doing when we asked about the products she used. We examined all the effects, comparing the ingredients and discussing what might or may not work for her skin.
We found that her cleaner was an alcohol-based spray. Aha! Alcohol can both dry and dehydrate the skin.
She was given a new, nourishing beauty regime that began with quitting her facial cleanser in favor of a natural cleaner.
The importance of the natural cleanser that you choose
What is the first item you use every morning? And what’s the last thing you do at the end of the day? Right! It’s essential to start your beauty routine with a cleanser, as it is the first product that touches your face.
Finding balance is essential.
Finding the perfect natural face wash for your daily routine is like a Goldilocks problem. If your face wash doesn’t clean deeply enough, it will leave buildup on the top of your skin. The rest of your products may not be absorbed.
A harsh cleanser for your skin may strip away the natural oils and compromise your Acid Mantle. This can lead to increased sensitivity, premature aging, and increased sensitivity. There is no one size fits all solution for skin care because everyone is different. Finding the right organic cleanser will make a massive difference to your skin.
More than face washing is required.
Natural cleansers often only remove some makeup or must be more effective. If your natural cleanser doesn’t clean enough, use physical accessories instead of synthetic facewash.
If you have trouble removing your makeup using a regular wash, try a little extra facial cleanser or oil on a cotton ball.
Check out the ingredients of your cleansers.
You should always check the ingredients of your skincare products. There are many reasons to contain the elements of your skincare products. One is that, like the woman who found alcohol in her products, several advertise sensitive skin or anti-aging products. However, a closer inspection of the label will reveal that these products may not be beneficial for the skin and could even worsen the problem.
Do your research
It’s a good idea to be curious about the ingredients in your products. However, many companies rely on people not doing extra research and flipping over the bottles to see what’s inside.
Skin is a very porous organ. Although it is good at keeping out things, transdermal absorption is possible. Some chemicals (ethanol is one) can increase skin permeability to certain chemicals.
Avoid sulfates
There are many ingredients that companies can use in their skincare products, but one that we have found that people like is the rich lather that their synthetic facial cleanser produces. Sulfates are the main ingredients in foaming cleansers. They make skin feel clean and fresh.
You will most commonly find sulfates in skin care products like sodium sulfate or sodium laurel sulfate. These foaming sulfates are harmful. They can not only cause skin irritation but also have profound health implications.
Discover your skin type.
When selecting the best natural skin care product for yourself, we’ve discussed this before. This is an important decision because it will play into your Goldilocks complex when choosing the proper face wash.
Dry skin
A gel cleanser or one with ingredients such as witch hazel or bark of willow trees may be too harsh for your skin. It can also exacerbate the problem.
Choose a facial cleanser made from natural ingredients that will give you an incredible feeling of cleanliness and add moisture to your face. Aloe and Coconut oil are good ingredients to look for that will boost your skin’s hydration.
Oily skin
If you have oily skin, cream cleansers or those with added oils could clog your pores. Choose a natural cleanser with ingredients high in salicylic acids (such as willow or witch hazel). Gel cleansers are also a good option for those who want a deep clean without clogging their pores.
Normal/combination skin
We suggest experimenting with your skincare routine if you have normal or combination skin. Choose a cleanser with a pH balance that will not upset your skin’s acid mantle. It would help to look for ingredients that balance your pH, such as neem or tamanu.
Pay attention & test things out.
After you’ve made sure you trust the brand, your ingredients, and the cleanser that you think you need is what you want to do, you should try it and pay attention to your skin.
To find the best face cleanser, ask yourself, “Do I require more moisture?” “Am I receiving a thorough clean?” “Does a brush help?” “Do I need to use a face wash?” When you find a face cleanser that contains the ingredients you want and is suitable for your skin, don’t hesitate to try it. Just make sure to allow your skin time to adjust.
