What is this drug?
IPRATROPIUM is used to treat a runny or stuffy nose. It reduces the mucus that is in your nose.

What should I tell the medical team before taking this medication?
You need to tell them if you suffer from any of the following conditions:
- Bladder problems – difficulty passing urine
- Glaucoma
- Prostate cancer
- Unusual or allergic reactions to ipratropium or other medications or foods.
- Pregnant? Or trying to become pregnant?
- Breast-feeding
What is the best way to use this medicine?
This medicine is intended for nasal use. As directed by the prescription, take it at the same time each day. Use it only as directed.

What happens if I forget to take a dose of the drug?
Use the missed dose as soon as possible. Use only the amount you are supposed to use. Use only the prescribed dose. Do not take extra or double doses.
What could interact with this drug?
- Atropine
- Antihistamines are used for allergies, colds, coughs, etc.
- Some medications to treat bladder problems, such as oxybutynin and tolterodine
- Some medications to treat depression, anxiety, or other mental conditions
- Some medicines to treat stomach problems, such as dicyclomine and hyoscyamine
- Some drugs to treat travel sickness include scopolamine
- Some medications to treat Parkinson’s disease, such as trihexyphenidyl, benztropine,

What should I be aware of when using this medication
If your symptoms don’t improve, tell your healthcare team. Avoid taking extra medications. The drug should begin to work in a few days.
This spray should not be used in the eyes. This spray can cause eye irritation, pain, or blurred vision. If any gets in your eye, flush it out with cool water and contact your healthcare team.
What are the possible side effects of this medication?
Report any side effects to your healthcare team as soon as you can:
- Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, and swelling of the lips, face, or throat
- Sudden changes in vision or eye pain, such as seeing halos around lights and blurred vision.
- Trouble passing urine
Report any side effects that are persistent or bothersome to your healthcare team.
- Dryness or irritation in the nose
- Headache
- Nosebleed

Where should I store my medications?
Keep away from children and pets.
